Funky | Chunky | Natural
This olive green bracelet is eye-catching and substantial, with beads carved into drop shapes with feminine graceful curves and inlaid with delicate curvy patterns. This bracelet would be a lovely compliment to an outfit in coral, brown or neutral. The large organic tagua nuts have been polished and dyed a gorgeous warm olive. While olive is often worn to compliment a yellow skin tone, because tagua is such a natural element, we find that it can also be worn to enhance all skin tones.
The bracelet is 2 inches (5 cm) from top to bottom and 8 inches (21 cm) around. It’s made with strong jewelry elastic that expands to fit any wrist size.
Tagua is carved from the nuts of tagua palms grown deep in the Amazon rainforest. These palms like dark moist areas and often grow underneath other tall trees. The nuts are a renewable resource and harvests are made year after year from these extraordinary trees. The nuts are harvested by indigenous people, providing them with income and encouraging them to avoid cutting down the forest for farming. The tagua nuts are hardened in the sun for about 4 months before being carved into jewelry beads. Tagua has a character similar to ivory and was widely used for buttons before plastic.
