White Bead Bracelet

  • Handmade and fair trade
  • Simple rustic style

If you value sustainability and style, this is the bracelet for you. This charming, chunky bracelet will bring a warm eco friendly look to your outfit and with its simple rustic style you will want to wear this bracelet often.

The tagua nuts that form the basis for this bracelet have been carefully carved from the outside of the tagua nut in order to leave plenty of the original texture and color of the nut available. The off white color will remind you of ivory, and tagua has an old name: vegetable ivory. Its character in terms of its hardness, ease of working with for carving/polishing and dying is similar to elephant ivory, but no one has been deprived of their tusks! Tagua grows naturally on palm trees in the amazon rainforest where it is sustainably harvested by local people. Using and valuing materials that naturally grow in the rainforest is beneficially to our environment because it helps prevent clear cutting the rainforest for other purposes.
