This inky black choker necklace is made from flat slices of tagua nut, dyed black for dramatic flair. Although chunky, you will find this necklace light and fun to wear. The black will look especially good against white or a neutral outfit. Comes with matching tagua earrings. The choker has a slip knot to hold it in place right up at your neck, or further down your chest for a variety of looks.
Tagua, also known as vegetable ivory, is sustainably harvested in the Amazon Rainforest in Ecuador. It shares many properties with elephant ivory: its very strong, light and takes a beautiful polish. The necklace is handcrafted by an indigenous artisan family in the Andes of Ecuador. We work with the family on a fair trade basis.
