You will love the dramatic true red of this beaded necklace, it will bring a pop of gorgeous color to a casual outfit. Its made with chunky seeds and nuts from the Amazon Rainforest in Ecuador. Because these organic materials are sustainably gathered by local indigenous people, they provide a livelihood and also give an incentive not to clear cut the rainforest for farming or mining purposes.
Made with tagua, pambil and coconut, these organic materials have been dried in the sun. They are very sturdy and longlasting. Tagua is often called vegetable ivory as it shares many characteristics of ivory, including being very strong, hard and coming to a beautiful polish.
This necklace was designed and handmade by an indigenous artisan in Ecuador. We work with all of our artisans on a fair trade basis.
